hi, i'm aimee

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, and I've spent the last 15 years sitting with people while they figure out who they really are underneath everything they were taught to be.

Aimee Olivarez Warren, LPC-S, founder of Violet Sky Therapy

where this all started

Here's the truth. I grew up in Mexican culture, where you didn't really talk about your feelings. You pushed them down, kept moving, and figured it out on your own. I was a teenager who felt completely misunderstood, and I remember wishing more than anything that someone would just see me. Really see me. Without needing me to explain or justify or perform.

That wish is basically why this practice exists.

I never want a client to feel like they have to make themselves smaller to be loved or understood. I never want anyone stuck in that trap where you've swallowed so many feelings that you don't even recognize yourself anymore. So I built a space where you don't have to do that.

the work that shaped me

Over the years I've done a lot of different work, crisis assessments with law enforcement, therapy with nonprofits, sitting with people through suicidal thoughts, self-harm, addiction. That kind of work teaches you fast that healing is never a straight line. It's messy, it's slow sometimes, and it's absolutely worth it.

These days, my favorite work is with couples and adults who are ready to get real with themselves. My practice is a safe, welcoming space for queer, trans, poly, and kink individuals and relationships, utilizing the Gottman Method to support couples. But honestly, the training is just the toolkit. The real work is showing up, meeting you exactly where you are.

how i show up

I believe you can only take someone as deep as you've gone yourself. So I keep doing my own work too. Therapy, growth, all of it. I'm not asking you to do anything I haven't done or wouldn't do myself.

I'm honest. I'm direct. I'm compassionate. I care about your growth more than I care about being liked in any given session.

outside the therapy room

I'm a mom to three kiddos, which has taught me more about patience and unconditional love than any textbook ever could.

I love to read, I love to swim, I'm always up for trying something new, and I believe wholeheartedly in the mind, body, and spirit connection.

I try to actually live that, not just talk about it.

If you're ready to be seen exactly as you are, I'd love to meet you.
